I’m Christopher Meldrum, a UK-based, queer, disabled painter working primarily in acrylics.

I love working with colour, light, and texture to capture the beauty in the world around me. This is my passion - I’m happiest when I’m painting, and I’m proud to be able to share that with others.

Take a look at my gallery to see my work, and all the pieces available to buy can be found in the shop.

I’m really happy with this piece. I especially had a lot of fun with the background, which I think adds a lot of depth and interest.

30 × 21 cm (A4) stretched canvas

Acrylic, isolation coat, 50/50 mix of gloss & matte varnish

I found this stock photo of a poison dart frog and had to paint it. I love the bright blue frog, and I struggled with the wood background but I’m really happy with how it turned out.

20 x 20.5 cm stretched canvas

Acrylic, isolation coat, 50/50 mix of gloss & matte varnish

This is actually a repaint of a digital piece I did back in 2022. I used Daler-Rowney Simply Neon paints for the first time and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

November 2025

17.5 × 12.5 cm stretched canvas

Acrylic, isolation coat, 50/50 mix of gloss & matte varnish

This one is very different to my usual work. It was a suggestion (or challenge) from my husband, and I was able to really have fun creating the composition as well as playing with different textures like clouds and metal.
